Frequently asked questions

What is QUT Giving Day?

Together, let’s ‘Imagine what’s next’!

The fourth annual QUT Giving Day is on 25 May 2022.

Join alumni, staff, students and the whole QUT community for this fundraising event as we put up the challenge for 24 hours of giving to help advance ground-breaking research and education programs at QUT.

Our vision for QUT Giving Day 2022 is to rally 1,849 donors to make a difference in the lives of students and the community.

How can I donate?

You can make a donation to QUT Giving Day by clicking the 'Make a donation' button at the top of the page!

Choose whether you would like to make a one-time gift or set up a donor challenge, select the cause(s) you’re passionate about, and complete your payment and contact details.

What are challenge gifts?

A challenge gift is a great way for donors to use their gift to inspire and encourage others to donate. When you set up a challenge, you agree to donate a set amount of money to a project - if certain conditions are met before the end of Giving Day. The most common challenges include total dollars raised, or a total number of donors.

Challenge gifts not only increase impact, but they're a fantastic way to motivate others!

Example challenges:

If Project X raises $500, I will donate $1000

If 50 donors give to Project X, I will donate $1000

Where does my donation go?

QUT uses Stripe to process your gift and transfer it to your chosen cause(s). QUT covers all administrative and staffing costs so that 100% of your gift goes towards making the greatest possible impact.

Will my QUT Giving Day gift be tax-deductible?

Yes. QUT is a certified Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) and all gifts of $2 or more are tax deductible for Australian taxpayers. After making a gift you will receive an email confirmation followed by a tax receipt.

Am I still able to donate if I live outside Australia?

Yes, we accept gifts from the entire community. Please note all gifts are processed in AUD.

How can I stay-up-to date with the cause I give to?

We endeavour to update you on the impact of your gift as often as possible through email and social media communications. To connect with us, please make sure you provide your contact details when making your donation and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
